You will outgrow people.

And that's okay.

When I started to realise I could be doing so much more with my time, from starting my own videography business to travelling solo, I had a huge fear hit me:

Does this mean I have to lose my current friends?

And I’ve found the answer to be… mainly no.

Friend groups hold different purposes, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Some of the mates I was scared of losing were in the bucket of “footy mates” - others where the “surfing mates”, and there’s “work mates” too.

If you go down a new path, you’ll find new people you align with.

But regardless, your cricket, or chess, or neighbourhood mates - they’ll still be there for that purpose.

Growing into a version of yourself you’re truly proud of may mean seeing less of those that don’t serve you, but that should make you bloody excited.

Because you’re one step closer to finding those aligned with you in the part of you you’re most passionate about.

You will outgrow people…

But they’ll still be there for you, just in the way they were before.

It’s okay for those friends to remain as they are, or grow in a separate direction.

Because a good friend?

They’re there for you to support you on your journey, even if it’s different to their own.

Keep going on your journey.

The right friends will still be there, and the new ones will come.

Have a great week,

Sam
